Here’s a great story about an autistic boy playing to his strengths: Jack Booth from Swindon, UK is 11 years old – and an internet hit thanks to his series of on-line games. Jack has created games to challenge players around the world – including City Of The Dead, which no player has managed to complete in over 2,000 attempts.
Jack’s twin obsessions are technology and cars. He is Ferrari mad, and at 11 years of age has already passed the theory part of his driving test. He puts his success at game making down to being very organized – and able to focus very clearly on things.
It’s easy to see how Jack could be somewhat alienated from his 11 year-old peers, and on this subject Jack is quoted in the UK newspaper Swindon Advocate as saying “I would like to show people they shouldn’t be scared to be friends with me.”
